Finite-Element Analysis

MF/FLOW

Moldflow, Inc.

Moldflow's finite-element flow analyses, MF/FLOW, are computer-aidedengineering (CAE) methods for studying the design and production ofthermoplastic and thermoset parts. These analyses are used to improvethe quality of the part and reduce manufacturing costs. Each flow analysis program includes a 3-D graphics pre- and post-processor for modeling and quickly interpreting filling results. Flowsimulation duplicates on a graphics screen the pressure, velocity, andtemperature relationships inside the mold during the filling process.Engineers are then able to make decisions on the final product design, grade of raw material (polymer) to be used, tooling concept, and moldingconditions.
